Charging Port Problems
Charging ports are easy to damage. Constant connecting and removal of the connector cord can be hard on the port and move, bend, or damage internal components. If your phone or mobile device has stopped charging correctly, there are a few things that you can do to troubleshoot and attempt to fix the problem.
Troubleshooting Charging Port Problems
The charging port can be dirty or dusty, blocking the connection. Try using a can of compressed air to remove debris from inside the port. If this does not help, it might need further cleaning. Do not use paperclips or other tools to clear the port, as the charging pins can become damaged.
You also might be using the wrong charger. Are you using the charger that came with the device? Some devices have specific power requirements that are not met by other chargers, even when they physically “fit” the charging port on your device.

At Simplify Simple we repair ALL charging ports to ALL devices, although in some situations it may not be reasonable to do so such as with the Samsung S5. If the pins inside are broken it requires the removal of the front screen to repair the port, and the risk of breaking the screen is not worth the cost. We repair the ports on Samsung 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and all other models. We also repair the ports on ALL iPhone models. Have a tablet with a broken charging port? No problem. We repair those every day as well.
